Meet the Family

Matt and Jeanne

Matt is a retired school principal who is on his second career leading the team here at Battle Hill. His favorite item on the menu is the ham and brie sandwich, and as a dark beer drinker, his go-to drink is the cocoa porter. His vision for Battle Hill is that all are welcome here and that Battle Hill is a place where people can gather, be happy, and break down walls between each other.

Jeanne is a first-grade teacher in South Glens Falls who has been coming to Battle Hill as a customer with Matt since 2017. She is the “go to” behind-the-scenes person who can often be found helping out in the kitchen, working to support the team and customers, and carrying babies around the dining room. If you are a tired mom who needs a quick break, Jeanne is your person!

Casey

Casey has been a server here at Battle Hill since 2020. When you come into the doors at Battle Hill, Casey will be here to warmly greet you and make sure that you have everything you need for a warm and welcoming experience. She has an incredible sense of humor and her laughter is infectious. If you are lucky enough to have Casey as your server, you are in for a real treat!

Bria

Bria has been serving here at Battle Hill since 2019. Her smile brightens up every room, and if there is anything you need here at the brewery, she is your person! Bria always sees the positive side of life and her presence will help you see the goodness that exists in the world. Bria also has a laughter that is infectious and she is always aware of the needs of our customers. If you are lucky enough to have Bria as your server, you for sure will leave our restaurant happier than when you came in because of her presence!

Abby, Ashley, and Doni

Abby is a third-grade teacher in South Glens Falls. In her “past life,” she has worked as a teacher, a manager at Target, and started bringing her skills here to Battle Hill in 2024. Abby has a way of naturally bringing joy to all of our customers, and she has a loyal following here at Battle Hill. Abby can usually be found here on Thursdays making people laugh and feeling good about themselves. Stop in and see her when you get a chance!

Ashley is an AIS math teacher in South Glens Falls who joined the team here in 2024. She has a long history of serving, having worked at many other restaurants in the past. She has a wicked sense of humor and is always able to laugh at herself and enjoys looking at the humorous side of life. Ashley is a real asset to Battle Hill, bringing warmth to everyone who meets her. She is able to talk to anyone and make them feel comfortable and at home. If you have Ashley as your server, you will be a very lucky individual!

Doni is a first grade teacher (God bless her!) in South Glens Falls who also joined the team during 2024. She has a long history of serving in different locations over the years. Doni is a person who will make sure that you feel completely comfortable here at Battle Hill. She loves a good story, so be sure to tell her about yourself. Doni can be the life of the party and brings a fun energy to the restaurant that makes you want to stay here forever!

Miranda

Miranda joined us in the summer of 2025. As a Fort Ann community member, we are SO excited to have her on board! Miranda works her “day job” as the Town Clerk at the Town of Fort Ann offices. One of the things we love about Miranda is that she has a great sense of humor (she will tell you that she is funnier than her husband for sure!) and keeps it all real! Miranda is all about her dogs, ducks, kids, and family! If you want to have a really fun experience here at Battle Hill, look for Miranda!

Kori

Kori is a long-time server at Battle Hill, starting in 2022. Kori is a Fort Ann native, and is an incredibly busy person, working at the Fort Ann Central School District and being involved in all sorts of youth activities to support our local community of youth. Kori is usually here on the weekends and shares her serving expertise with all of our loyal customers and travelers who pass through our doors.

Chaeli

Chaeli has been working her expertise in the Back of House making her sandwich magic, and since Spring 2025, her grilling and “everything else” magic! Chaeli and her fiancé, Cole, have been with Battle Hill since April 2024. She and Cole love animals live with their four cats, one lizard, one turtle, and fish. We love Chaeli’s mind because she is always watching, making recommendations for improvements, and is focused on the consistency and the quality of food that we create. She is an incredible asset to us here at Battle Hill!Cole

Patty

Patty came to us in July 2025 as our newest cook, and she has done a GREAT job continuing the consistency of quality that Battle Hill Brwing Company is known and revered for. She has years and years of experience in commercial kitchens and she fits in here perfectly! She has a great love for the outdoors and especially for her sweet dog, Paco (who is ADORABLE!!). Be sure to send a thank you to Patty when she is there cooking your delicious food!

Cody

Cody has been working here at the brewery since May 2025. He started in the kitchen working on the sandwich side of the kitchen making clubs, wraps, flatbreads, salads, etc., but he has branched out from there SO much that he has also become one of our premiere prep people because his attention to quality is second to none. For example, if you have had one of our burgers or chicken sandwiches, there is a really good chance that Cody has either hand-cut the chicken or hand-formed the burgers! If he see Cody as he passes by from the kitchen, definitely say hello!

Kathy

Oh, there is SO MUCH to say about Kathy! Kathy is our Mother Hen to the entire staff, making sure that we are all doing well, feel good, are well fed with a TON of homemade cupcakes. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet, is always willing to do ANYTHING asked, and the quality of her work is unmatched. Since Spring 2025 she has been our premier soup maker, dessert maker, and our unmatched prep person. If you LOVE the delicious soups she makes, be sure to tell her. Oh…and by the way…..she LOVES John Schneider (Bo Duke from Dukes of Hazzard), who just so happened to show up at Battle Hill Brewing Company in August 2025. As if you couldn’t tell… 🙂

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn came to the brewery in summer 2024 as a dishwasher first, but has since branched out to be an amazing expediter and sandwich side of the kitchen staff member. Her attention to detail is superb and she is a great quality control checker to make sure that our orders come out correctly. Kaitlyn lives locally, loves her cat, and loves both anime and some real rocking music!! We can’t overstate what an amazing asset to Battle Hill Kaitlyn is!

Matthew

Matthew has worked here at Battle Hill for a lot of years! As a man of few words, Matthew keeps our dishes clean, and more importantly, he is the maker of those DELICIOUS pretzel bite dipping sauces – the maple, the horseradish mustard, and the beer cheese. Matthew always has a book in hand. If you see him, be sure to ask him what great book he is reading!

Nick

Nick is a local high schooler here at Fort Ann Central School. He is one of our dishwashers, mainly on Fridays and Saturdays, but recently has been branching out to other areas of the kitchen to learn the food side of our operation. Nick is always willing to do anything asked of him and continues to grow in his skills here. When it is really busy, you may see Nick delivering food to the tables or picking up dishes. We can’t wait to continue seeing what he does here at the brewery because we think it’s going to be amazing!

Sean

Sean is one of our brewers here at Battle Hill Brewing Company, joining us in 2026. Sean has 30 years of brewing experience, most recently at Blue Line Brewery up in Saranac Lake as the head brewer and as one of the 2.5 brewers at Paradox Brewery. We are very excited to have Sean on board with us! If you want to know all of the technical aspects our beer offerings and the brewing process, Sean is definitely the person to talk to!
